I'm getting the Knots2u gear warning light installed. It will be next to the airspeed. Hard to miss in the pattern.

When I replaced my horn, I decided to use a different horn that was an intermittent versus constant buzzing as I thought it would more likely get my attention. The replacement 12v horn easily fit inside the original plastic container.

I have also heard of modifications where the power to the buzzer was wired to an intercom so that it comes over the headset as well.

I installed the Voice Alert 2040-1-2 device from Aircraft Spruce, which produces a loud "Check landing gear, check landing gear!" message via the intercom if power is pulled with the gear up. The message keeps going until the gear is put down or power is added. Very effective. Also has a speaker, so you can hear it in the cabin without headphones as well. Expensive, but far more audible than the horn.
