Comanche yoke emblem graphics file

Postby Gordon Hering » Mon Apr 20, 2015 11:52 pm

Would anyone have a JPEG or GIF file for the Native American-style Comanche emblem that was found on the plate of the traditional Comanche yokes? If possible I would like to create a decal or transfer so that I can add it to a new panel on my '65 260.

Gordy,

Welcome to the Forum.

If no one has one hadny, I can take a picture of our Twin's - it is original and then you'd have a jpeg.

If there a sense of urgency?

Hi Pat,

Thanks for your offer. Aside from buying a used yoke on EBay (that I wouldn't need other than the emblem) this seems to be one of the few options. Is the background color on your emblem white or black? No particular sense of urgency - the panel pieces probably won't go on for a few weeks.

Thanks,

Gordy

Black - original was an all black interior.

I changed out my original yokes and still have the emblems loose in a drawer. If you wish, I could mail you my emblems, you could do whatever you plan to do to copy them, then mail them back to me when finishes. Just one thing: I live in Canada so you would need to fill out a Customs declaration when returning them but no cash (Customs duty, taxes) would be involved. Let me know if this helps.

Hi Don,

Wow! What an extraordinary offer! I think that would give me the most flexibility with regard to photography, transfers or reproducing the design. Shall I contact you directly at the email address in your post?

Years ago, when I installed rams horn yokes, I could not find Comanche emblems. Ended up using real silver US dollar coins with the wings side out. I believe they cost about Eight paper dollars each then !
They take a nice shine with just a bit of polish. Al Powers N88AP

Hi Gordy,

I got bored a while ago and made this for my iPhone....

You're welcome to use it as you wish.

James.

Jim,

Nicely done - if an actual yoke emblem photo doesn't work out this will be a very handsome backup - thank you.
