propeller for 180

Postby Sergei Gluhushkin » Thu Dec 20, 2012 12:24 am

Thinking of replacing old Hartzell with 3-blade Blackmac on 1962 PA-24-180, 0-360 A1D. Basing my desision on reading some of the old postings. Like the idea of better climb rate but worried about vibration. Will be installing new Lord engine mounts J-7402-5, any other suggestions?
Thank you,

For me it came down to price, the hartzell top prop can be had for almost 3k less. Perf was roughly the same in my case.

I was able to get a new Hartzell Top Prop drop shipped from these guys (http://www.aircraftpropellerworks.com/) for $6625.00 out the door...it was the best price by almost $1000 at the time (Feb 2012).

Hope that helps,

-Quint
