Hi Joel,
I have a '66 260B (#4563) with a Dukes pump. During the '66-'67 time frame it appears piper went from the Bendix to the Dukes pump but as was common with piper they didn't stop using the old brand before they started using the new one. So aircraft with serial #'s next to each might have different pumps.
The bad news is that there does not appear to be a source for parts to repair the Bendix pumps although I'm not entirely sure on this as I have never faced that problem. Depending on what is wrong with your motor/pump, I suspect in the right hands it could be fixed.
The Dukes are still available new but very expensive. There are rebuild kit available for them if you can find a salvage pump. If you do find a salvage one you will need the mounting brackets as well as it is not a drop in replacement for the Bendix. The Dukes pump is not a great pump. There is talk that an outfit in the NW that makes a very nice STC'd unit for the twinco's is working on one for the singles. Not sure where they are with that bu have not heard anything about them selling them so far.
Good luck, Don
