Century IIB or Autocontrol III Servo

Century IIB or Autocontrol III Servo

Postby RLF » Tue Aug 02, 2011 7:13 pm

Does anyone have a servo for the Autocontrol III (Century IIB)? Part number 1D363-1-161R. I could also use the mounting hardware for the servo.

Wonder if the servo from a Century III would work? It's out of my '66 30B, in favor of a new C-2000.
Can check part no. when I get home in a couple days, if you think it might.

It very likely could work. Do you also have the mounting brackets?

I checked the Century IIB, Century III manual. Your servo should be a 1C363-1-161R. I'm not sure what the difference between the C and D version is, but one person at Wentworth said there was no difference. Do you have the complete autopilot? I believe the Century III is also STC'd for the 250. Oops, I just checked the Century Web site and there is no STC for the III in the 250. Hmmm. It doesn't show an STC for the twin either so I'm not sure what's up with the STC situation. None the less, I'm interested.

Hi Rob, this email in this mornings reply to yours failed delivery:

Hi Rob,
Sorry, I've been distracted with chasing my 250's problems. Without having torn the engine down, we've a strong suspicion it's a front crankshaft bearing failure.

The autopilot has been removed from my twin at Megahertz and is in a box. I just talked to Ron there and he confirms the "C" number on the servo as you suggested. Not sure about the mounting hardware as the fellow that removed the AP isn't in yet. But he needs to know which servo/position you're looking for.

Otherwise, if you think you can use it, or any part, just make me a reasonable offer.

Best, Don

I prefer the CIII (or IV) to the C2000.

Thanks for your reply, Don. I am interested but need to check out the availability of an STC for that auto pilot in a 250. Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I've been off the forum for several days. I sent you an email with another address to try.
