Postby PJACKO » Sun Mar 13, 2011 12:29 am

Hi: does anyone know who made the PA30 fuse. nose without the hole in front ? Mine has a lot of lot of cracks and dips and I would like to replace it if possible.

There are two ways to go, and I think that both may lead you to Knots2U. I have seen Twinkies with radome modes that put the scoop underneath and have a clean fiberglass front. The other is the Miller nose which is longer and has a small baggage compartment. K2U bought the Miller STC's recently, though which of them they will put into production is unknown as yet.

I installed the Knots 2 U radome nose. I'm really happy with how it updates the appearance of the pa30, and although I was skeptical that the lower plenum location might reduce air intake, it has not. In fact, I'm told that the new plenum is designed as a "NACA inlet", and is very efficient. Claims about increased cruise speeds appear to be a little optimistic though. Overall, I'm glad I put the new nose on the airplane :D .
