I may be able to get an aftermarked from Webco, but I'm dealing with the Little Rock FSDO here. I've been advised that for now the best move would be to get a used one from a salvager. However, they're not easy to come by. I have a number of inquiries out but no responses at all. Anyone know what happened to Suprize Valley Aviation in Cederville, California? They advertized in the Flyer about having 60 some odd Comanches for disassembly but their phone number is disconnected, and I cannot find a Cedarville airport in the AOPA directory.
I have a few reservations about putting in a cable as old or older than the plane. But, that 's better than waiting a number of months for the FSDO. I'm told that I can't use a manufactured part under the aging aircraft statute, but I'm not sure why. That came from Cliff at Heritage Aero and he hasn't steered my wrong yet. If I can't get a used part I may well have Macfarlane make one, but that will still take the 337 form.
