Tony,

I think you may be on to something here. I wonder what it costs to put something like that up and then maintain it for accuracy and updated information?

The site seems to be very user friendly, even for computer neanderthals like me. I've been off caffeine for 20 years, and I still think it's cool.

Did I see a post you were coming to San Diego? If so, I look forward to meeting you.

Best regards, Mike Foster

Tony,

Please help me understand your post a little better. You seemed to say that you love getting the magazine every month and would NOT want to spend $66 for membership without it. But then you followed to talk about a wonderful online magazine. Do you mean to suggest you would be happy with an online magazine of that quality in place of the Flyer in its current form?

Online Magazine

Postby Don Nelson » Fri Aug 20, 2010 7:16 pm

Thanks Tony,

That's good information for a comparison. Following Oshkosh Shirley and I visited Village Press and among other things we talked with them about putting our magazine online with a program called Turn Page, that they are using for other publications.
Anyone familiar with that?

Anyway, we'll be talking to the Board about it at San Diego.

Don,

You might call Piper Owner Society and see what they use. They've already made this investment as well and publish several aviation pubs.

http://www.piperowner.org/contact-us.html

Either or both organizations should be able to give you a temporary ID to see the product for yourself and how it compares to the PDF files of The Flyer already available on the ICS website.

Pat: I recently joined the Piper Owners Society. They recently announced the hire of a technical person to assist with parts and advice in this area. You can subscribe for either a printed or email version of their magazine. I am satisfied without the printed version for a substantial saving.

It doens't seem like too huge a stretch to meld the ICS magazine into POS's magazine. On the face of it there should be savings available there.

It also seems to me that having Comanche news exposed to all Piper owners should enhance the value of our breed.
