Auto Pilot Disengaging

Auto Pilot Disengaging

Postby Billy Matthews » Sat Jul 31, 2010 2:45 pm

Hello All,

I fly a 69 PA30 that has a 3B AP I had it overhauled but I still can't get the thing to work. So for a year now I have been flying without an AP no big deal because most of the time I fly VFR, but now I am going to make more to use this fabulous bird and that mean more IFR flying.

For the altitude hold you have to center the needle before you can engage the AH button but I can't get the needle centered, I have followed the directions as called out in the handbook and the needle will not center.

When I use the heading bug it works great for a while but disengages on its on with no warning at all.

Can anyone help me with these issues:

Thanks
Billy :?

Call Autopilots Central in Tulsa OK, or Muncie Aviation in Muncie IN. Either of these places should be able to help.
