Right turning tendency, PA30

My twinco has a tendency to want to roll right, sometimes rather strongly, when autopilot of off line. It's not so that she can't be hand flown but more of an inconvenience when hand flying. When it's time to shut down, the yoke moves as soon as the master is shut down. I can't track it down, have pulled the circuit breaker on the autopilot with no result. Trim shouldn't have an impact on the ailerons. Has anyone else had any experience with this and can give me some clue to direction to track down this gremlin?

Do you have one of those backup autopilot "Autoflite" things? If so, could that be causing your problem?
