I like to have the magazine but it standard has to be better, I don’t like to read articles/books etc. over the internet.
The cost of publishing the magazine is largely being paid by the revenue from adverts, the unknown is what the advertisers will do if we switch to digital version only, how many of them will continue with us. To have a digital version we still need someone to collects the material and edit it, effectively we will save only the cost of printing and mailing so probably the savings will not be that great. Then we need to know if Village Press will be willing to deal with us or not. If the answer is No we need to think what we will do next and if we can find an alternative.
Personally I have no issue with increased dues but I am sure that some people will. In the past we lost members as a result.
ICS had an office with people working in it, we went into the red and became broke. It took some years to recover and be in the position that we are now, I am not sure that I want to go back in time without considering all benefits and risks involved, we must be very careful with every move we do.
