Utterly phenomenal!

What was done to the cowl latches/fasteners? Were they chromed or are those a new style of some sort in stainless?

Hi Pat,

Unless I'm mistaken, I believe all the cowl latches are stainless steel, they are just typically painted. I think there was a thread on this subject a number of years ago. I've always been tempted to examine mine more closely to see if this is true.

This has to be the finest example of a plane interior / exterior rebuild that I have ever seen. I stand in awe of the dedication and commitment this effort must have taken. The attention to detail is astounding. This airplane deserves a place at Oshkosh this summer, just so that "normal" airplane owners can see what is possible.

It should be designated Comanche of the decade. I took the liberty of calling Oxford Aviation and inquiring about having similar work done to my airplane. I spoke to the President of the company. These folks are artists. I just received a package from them. What these folks can do with your airplane is amazing. The kicker is it is not cheap. But also, you do not necessarily have to have the extensive work done that the Vegas Viper had.

The only thing that makes me reluctant about pursuing an interior done by Oxford is this - i use my plane a lot, and take it to different places in and out of the country. I think i would be concerned every time someone gets in the airplane if they are going to foul the interior. I do a lof of Young Eagles flights. My interior is old and comfortable. Given its age, I am not too concerned about someone getting the seat dirty. I would be if I have something like that. Nevertheless I am considering something similar to what Mr Lesnick had done. It is my understanding that an article is going to come out soon for AOPA or EAA on this airplane.
