One thing that hasn't been mentioned is that the 530 will give you the distance to a vortac in the vor window along with your distance to a way point. In effect it replaces the DME. The 430 does not have that capability.

True, but the fact remains that this feature alone probably does not equal the additional cost for the 430 over the 530. The bigger screen is nice, as is the first nav page with the imbedded compass rose, but a 396 will show the same page for significantly less chang...
