On a different thread Chris asked:
P.S. How do you get picture sizes small enough to post on here? I have had no success

I was having the same problem when working with a JPEG image. I finally reduced the picture to 200 pixels wide and saved as a GIF image and it came out 11.3 KB. The same picture saved as a JPEG image would be 17 KB.

I solved the problem by importing the picture into a temporary Word document and then sizing it to nn% of the original to bring it to the wanted size, and then using a screen grabber to make a jpg of it. The original resolution is ignored by the screen grabber so the file size is dramatically reduced.
This process can be repeated ad infinitum.

The screen grabber used for this process is a freeware tool called "PrintScreen". I can't imagine life without it!
