Webco Update

GOOD NEWS
Webco now has FAA approval to repair the following Fuel Selector Valves.

The approval covers the following valves.

1H7-1

1H7-2

1H7-7

1H7-8

Webco is now accepting these valves for repair.

They have hired a DER to do an approved repair document and the FAA has approved the procedure.

The same DER is working on the gear transmission issue and they hope for approval in the near future.

This is GREAT NEWS for all Comanche owners

Steve,
Is yours beyond repair? Call Webco and ask what the turn time is on one. They will tell you if it is salvagable. They will do -1 valves.. If you have a known bad valve, don't screw around, get it fixed.

I sent my 1H7-1 2H fuel selector to B&S Ametek in Wichita. After an evaluation, they wrote in an email that "we are unale to rework it because ... the valve is rusted and is heavily pitted and corroded deeming it unworkable." They are sending it back to me "as is." B&S's overhaul price was going to be somewhere around $1,800, they told me.

I called WEBCO yesterday, and they quoted that an overhaul starts at around $2,250 and could go as high as $3,500. Geezah, and I've got TWO of them (although I'm electing to overhaul just the one that is leaking from the left aux into the left main). WEBCO also said they have no units available for sale.

Currently, I'm waiting for a reply from piperspares.com/. They're located in Europe somewhere. Next, I plan to look in Australia, because I can't seem to find anything in the US~~Steve Nieman

p.s. I attached a jpeg of what it looked like before it went out

Thats about 10 times what it used to be!!!! Literally. It used to be 250-350 bucks. I sure am glad the Feds are looking out for our safety by making necessary repairs prohibitively expensive! Not good.
