I've looked into FAR 43 but didn't find the answer I was hoping for. To confirm, a non-A&P pilot can not pull a tach for overhaul and consider it as preventative maintenance is that correct?
My tach meter has stopped working in one of my 2 Tach's. They are cable driven. Are the cable's as likely to be the issue as is the instrument itself.
