What your ICS Board of Directors has been doing in its spare time. |
We apologize for the number of emails you have received lately. Although you have been swamped with emails lately concerning strife within the board of directors, this email is to let you know the board of directors is continuing to work toward moving ICS forward.
We heard your concerns and have made several changes on the website. Since we have a two month lag time to get you the information utilizing the Flyer, we needed to get you this information now since many of the changes went into effect over the weekend. You will see similar in the April Flyer since some members have opted out of getting email.
The new website information is below. We tested the site after the changes were implemented, but if you find something that does not work, please let us know. Sometimes a change at the website can affect your access. Since there are so many browsers, password savers, etc. there may be issues we did not find. You can email LaVerne Stroh at clstroh@yahoo.com or call her at 405-373-2627.
Our goal is to continue improving the site and adding information that will be useful to you. We have several more updates planned for the next few weeks.
Forums: The new forums are up and running. You will no longer need to sign on to the forums separately and will not have to log into a separate chat and maintenance forums. All information is now in one spot. To get to the forums, log into the website and then select ICS Forums under ICS Members. Click on Visit the ICS Forum and you are ready to post, read, etc.
The information from the old forums is not lost. The old forums are archived. Under Archived Forums, you will have a choice to click on the Chat Forum Archive or Maintenance Forum Archive. You will be able to search for information in the old forums; but you won’t be able to post anything to the old forums. You will need to start a new post in the new forums. If you would like, you can copy the information from the archived forums and paste the information into a new post and ask a question regarding the copied information.
Security: Many of you had issues with the ICS website not being a secure site. It was causing some members to not be able to get to the site since their internet browser wouldn’t let them access a non-secure site. The site is now secure and you should not have any problems accessing the website. Along with seeing https in the internet address, if your browser shows the security of an internet site in colors, you should now see green instead of yellow or red.
Technical Questions: Some of you tried using the ticket system to get your technical/maintenance questions answered. Your feedback was that it was cumbersome; and it appeared some people didn’t get a response to their question. We found the answers may have gone into the Spam/Junk folder. We tried updating the ticket system so it would work through email; but it still was not ideal. So, we brought back the email based question/answer system to make it easier for you. We will do some upgrades on this email system in the near future, but it will stay simple and easy to use. If you click on the Technical Info tab and then select Technical Questions, a form will come up. Input your question, your name, and your email address. Click Submit and you’re question will be on its way to the technical team. We currently have four technical experts and are hoping to add more in the future.
