EASA approval for tip tanks on a PA30-B ?

EASA approval for tip tanks on a PA30-B ?

Postby Jean-Francois Thibon » Mon Mar 20, 2017 11:56 am

Hi,
We have recently acquired a PA30-B with tip tanks and we are registering it under French register
Unfortunately, the French administration complains that the tip tanks (SA727WE STC) hasn't been approved by EASA, and they require an evidence that it has been accepted at least by a member of EASA in the past, to allow us to fly with tip tanks, and extended Max Gross Weight (3725 lbs)
As many PA30 in Europe fly with tip tanks, I guess that this STC has been accepted sometime in the past by an EASA member ?
If someone could provide us as such an evidence, like a copy of the CA, and any evidence that this tip tanks STC has been approved by an EASA member (UK, Germany, ...), I would be very grateful
In advance, thank you for your help
Regards
j-f

Everything is OK now, we provided LBA and CAA documents, and Piper was able to send us the production datasheet of aircraft SN, with tips, issued in December 1968 ...
Thank you very much for your help !
