260 Master Brake Cylinder Access

260 Master Brake Cylinder Access

Postby Chip Reahard » Thu Jun 09, 2016 9:18 pm

I need to replace seals in my 260 brake master cylinders. It appears that the only access to the top mounting bolts for the cylinders is by removal of instruments, etc. to allow room for hands and wrench, etc. Am I missing something or is this as much of a pain as it appears??
Thanks to anyone who has done this and can give advice.

Why remove them completely? Remove the linkage to the pedals, then remove the remove the plungers from the cylinder, leaving the cylinder in place. Replace all of the seals and O rings then reinstall the plungers and bleed the brakes.
