Stabilator cable tension PA30 question

Stabilator cable tension PA30 question

Postby Greg Banfield » Thu Feb 11, 2016 5:18 am

Anyone know what the stabilator tension should be for a PA 30 with a Stec 55x installed. PA 30 manual states 18 lbs +\- 20% without auto pilot bridle cables installed.

You would need the STEC-55 manual to know for sure, or you can call them. The Century manual is the same as the Piper manual, so I am guessing that if you use those values, you will not be too far off.

Kristin- You were correct. STEC tech said stabilator cable tension is set to airplane spec per service manual (18 +/- 20%) for PA30. No variation is needed. AP bridle cable should be set to 15 +/- 2 lbs
