Looking for a good Twin Comanche

Looking for a good Twin Comanche

Postby Mike Myers » Fri Sep 11, 2015 7:19 pm

Hello Comanche owners. Looking for a Twin Comanche for sale, 1966 or newer for a friend of mine. He wants something that is IFR capable, all AD’s complied with, and preferably something that has been flying regularly (he is not looking for a project) and has a working autopilot. If you are considering of parting with your twin, and want it to go to a good home, please call Glenn at 574-315-8979 or email him at tanro73@aol.com. He lives in the northern Indiana region where the airplane will be based.

Thanks,

Mike

Mike,

It would probably help folks if they had an idea of the price range and any other features that he/she may want or not, such as turbo, tip tanks, etc.

He's looking for something non turbo right now. As for everything else, just a good all around airplane he can travel in. Price range $100k or less. He's looking at 310's and Barons as well, but I'm trying to talk him into a good Twin Comanche. I think in the long run he will be happier with the mantenance cost etc.

As for the one in Goshen, he has in fact looked at that and had Cliff do a prebuy on it. It hasn't run in 5 years so there is some issues with the engines. Glenn made a very fair offer to them based on having to fix the lifters in both engines, but unfortunately they want more for it.

In working with buyers for Comanches, I find that a lot of long time owners of Comanches who haven't flown them in years, have an unrealistic idea of the value of there aircraft. They do not what to accept the fact that letting them sit devalues the aircraft.
