I have purchased a Bendix KLR 10 AoA system and prefer the installation of the probe to be under nose of my 1969 Twin Comanche rather than under the wing. Has anyone installed a probe in this location and did it require an STC? Thanks
We mounted the "Lift Reserve Indicator" probe under the nose of my PA30 in the early 90's with a log book entry and I have never had a problem with subsequent annuals. My read on current aviation literature indicates the FAA is encouraging angle of attack instrumentations and they can be signed off without the usual mass of approvals.
