Fine rubber dust

Fine rubber dust

Postby Jim Menconi » Fri Nov 21, 2014 12:56 am

I am getting a fine rubber dust which seems to be blown into my lap and below my seat while in flight. I have checked everything where if might be coming from but nothing is obvious. Does anyone have any ideas as to what it might be. I think it's some kind of impeller or something like that. Don't have any idea besides that. My heater was overhauled 2 annuals ago and I frankly don't use it, will probably use it this winter. Any ideas would be appreciated,
Jim

To be below the seat, it must be coming from the heater vents. Have you tried running the heater on the ground to see if there are any unusual smells?

I took it out this week and not as much dust but I haven't run the heater since I had it rebuilt. I need to do that and see if anything comes out. Thanks,
Jim

Jim,

Am I ever going to get back the canvas cover I lent you? It has been a couple of years. I am pretty sorry I went out of my day to do that favor.

Jim

Please return kristins property. She does much to support our airplanes, as evidenced by lending you something. Once bitten twice shy. Everyone gets busy, and things get put off, but please take care of your responsibility.

Respectfully
Andrew

My email has been the same for as long as I have been on this forum and longer. I suggested that you drop it off at the airport, last time I saw you, but that didn't happen. You can drop it off any time at the airport office or at Mangon Aircraft and just say that it is for me and then let me know where to find it.

Good to hear, Kristin. I just wanted to tell you that your cover is at
Aero Ventures. Thanks for your help and I'm sorry for the delay in getting this back to you.
