PA24-260 Turbo excessive rich issue

Postby Ronald Cecchi » Mon Jul 07, 2014 6:12 pm

Hello all,

I appreciate this forum as a new owner. I have a new issue that I am looking for input on.

I am having problems where the running to rich at take off or early climb with the mixture full rich as recommended. Leaned out slightly I develop normal power, but at full mixture it can bog down a little. I am going to get the plane looked at this week, but I wanted some input in advance. Is there an adjustment to the overall range of mixture or am I more likely looking at fuel injector issue?

Thanks for any guidance as I like to get my facts in advance.

Ron,

The maintenance manual is online under the Tech Tab and I'd suggest looking for some thoughts there.

I can tell you for the twin there are multiple places to adjust the mixture beyond the mixture control lever.

The only field serviceable adjustment on your fuel servo is for idle mixture. If you are having issues with full rich full power operation, this will need to be addressed on a flow bench by a qualified accessory shop.
