What radios do you have and does the same thing happen when transmitting on comm 1 and comm 2 (I assume you have two coms)? If it does, its probably the intercom. If it only happens on one comm then its probably that radio. When you key the mike, depending on what radios you have, you switch from intercom audio to radio side tone (some radios didnt have a side tone so people jumpered the intercoms so they would have a virtual sidetone). If you have one of the radios with no sidetone out, and the intercom was jumpered, then it is probably an intercom problem. Now with that said "radio" problem or "intercom" problem also included all the wiring from one to the other.
