Pictures Requested - Shadin Fuel Flow Transducer Install

Hey gang!
Does anyone have any pictures of the Shadin Fuel Flow transducer installation in a PA-30 (behind the firewall)? I'd like to see the finished product before I install mine. The STC instructions have a little to be desired.

IIRC upward orientation is important - here's the best photo I've got.

Double click on photo and then float over the transducer and click again for max magnification

Perfect! Thank you Pat!! That's what I had suspected but the DWG in the STC package isn't the greatest and even JL Osborne ( STC holder) doesn't have pictures.

How do you like the unit? Have you found it fairly accurate?

David,

Mom and I won an Aerosonic fuel computer in a speed pilot-skilled air race in the 1970s and have been spoiled ever since.

We have found them to be highly accurate and at times good indicators of an electrical problem in the twin. Usually within a tenth on fuel flow after replacing the old transducers and plus or minus two tenths on fuel used - assuming the twin is level and is filled to exactly the same place.

Also a great indicator of which engine is failing or has failed - just in case you might have too much adrenaline flowing.

Almost forgot - tied to the GPS so determining surprise fuel stops if winds are worse than expected is a piece of cake. Good old Gallons Remaining at Destination is a favorite display setting. Keeps whoever is left seat honest.

Fabulous for managing tank changes. We can run a tank 'dry' but never have the engine skip a beat because the fuel flow variance is so noticeable before any hiccup.
