Control Wheel Shaft Slide

It appears that the "Control Wheel Shaft Slides" P/N 42538-00 on my Comanche are excessively worn resulting in looseness and stickiness. Anybody have a good source for replacement slides?

Do you know anyone that has a lathe? They're easy to make. If you want to get fancy, you can get a roller bearing ( a little smaller than what you need) and machine a collar out of Delran that can be pressed on to the roller bearing. I did that years ago and have never had to replace them. Still working great.

I have access to a lathe and milling machine. Any idea what they're made out of? Is there a drawing available for them? The roller bearing idea sounds interesting, but probably beyond my capability at the moment.

You can use nylon or delran. I don't know exactly what the original factory material specs were. Just measure the original for diameter, shaft hole size, and width. You shouldn't have any difficulty in making these.

If you have a slide, then this is not a round. I have slides (c-model) and I thought there was some adjustment, but my memory may be off. Some nylon block, properly trimmed could address this.
