PA-30 Main Gear Trunions

PA-30 Main Gear Trunions

Postby Charles Schefer » Mon Jul 09, 2012 4:34 pm

A local flight school here at Manassas Airport (HEF) - Aviation Adventures (www.aviationadventures.com) - operates an original PA-30 (I guess it's a "pre-B" model since there is technically no "A" model) and also a PA-39 C model. On the original Pre-B model they have sent the trunions out for repair but are also looking for a new / good used set. The owner of Aviation Adventures told me that he had contacted Webco about their "Millennium" replacement trunions but was told they are not fully approved yet. I had a different impression from their website and other postings but apparently that was what the was told or otherwise given to understand.

Anyway, if anyone has a set of trunions to sell or has a suggestion for a good avenue please let me know or better yet - feel free to call Bob Hepp, the owner of Aviation Adventures at (703) 915-0428.

Thanks,

- Charles

Charles, welcome to the Comanche maintenance forum.

New trunnions milled from a single block of aluminum are STC'd for the Twins. I'm hoping a person who knows how to get them will post here.

Charles, actually they were engineered by the Australian Tribe and Pat Barry got them through the STC process here. You can try contacting him directly - his contact info is in the Flyer in every issue on the page with the Tech Directors.

Hope this helps. Kindly post what you find out so we can all learn. Thanks.
Pat
