Needed Master Cylinder for '64 PA24

Needed Master Cylinder for '64 PA24

Postby Paul Klouda » Sat Feb 18, 2012 3:13 pm

Greetings All,

Posted this under parts heading but thought this may prove to get more responses. I am looking for used serviceable or rebuilt master cylinder for '64 PA-24 toe brake with parking brake valve. Piper Part # 455-929
Any suggestions on locating one would be appreciated. Or any rebuilding tips that would help my old one out! Getting fluid leakage inside on my left foot. Have had the current cylinder out 3 times replaced the o-rings checked everything and returned to service. Unless you tap the lower part of the rudder pedal the brake hags up slightly, tried to adjust with no success replaced clevis and spring on cylinder did not help at all.

Hi Paul,

Did you ever find a source for new or rebuilt master cylinders? Mine are giving me a range of issues (binding on left side, binding on both sides, no hand brake pressure). Two removal and replacements with new O rings did not solve the problem. The left cylinder was scoped and found to be scored as well as rusty at the bottom. Metal fragments found in the fluid. Cleveland has no current equivalent, so I'm trying to find replacements.

Thanks,

Gordy
