PA30-B Parts, including STOL kit & Tip Tanks

Postby Nick Long » Thu Oct 13, 2011 12:04 pm

Hi everyone,

Unfortunately PA30-B, constructor number #1075, date 1966, registration N7976Y, won't be flying again.

I have the complete aircraft dismantled and stored and most parts are available. One of the engines is going into a Midget Mustang (designed in 1948 by the Piper chief designer). The wings have the leading edge STOL kit and tip tanks.

The aircraft is in southern England.

Please email me for further details - nick@beaglepup.info

Nick, so sorry to hear you are parting out.

There's apart I've been looking for awhile now - not labeled or shown in parts manual but I think it exists.

In the pilot footwell, behind the rudder pedals, I think there is a plastic panel that is supposed to cover the control cables - do you have it? BTW, there is one on the co-pilot side.

Also, if the power cake-piece quadrant cover is in good shape, I'd be interested.

Pat,

I will have a look when I'm in the hangar tomorrow.

Pat,

Unfortunately, the B model power quadrant cover is not the same for the PA-30C and the PA-39. I got one from Webco, but there is some assembly required if they have one. If you can get a blank, I can guide you through the process of making it work.

Pat,

Is this what you mean? There is a black plastic panel behind the rudder pedals on the RHS, but not on the LHS.

Nick,

Exactly. I have the right side but it appears there actually may not be one for the left side as I check with other Comanche owners - they don't have one either. Strange to me because of the exposed control cables so I keep looking.

Thanks for checking.

Pat,

I don't believe there ever was a control cable cover under the LH (pilot's) footwell. Have never seen one and it's not in the parts manual. RH only.

George,
I agree with you - that didn't stop me from having one made to protect
the control cables. :-)

Hello Nick, I have a PA 250, 1958 model, that I want to upgrade to Pilot side toe brakes, I am actually working in The UK at the present time . I am interested in the complete assembly pedals cylinders and fittings if available, as well as the tip tanks, i believe they will work on the 250.

My uk # is 07918708332
Thanks
