Rumor has it that K2U bought the Miller STC's. I would try call there. If they need a minimum order to restart production on that STC, try posting here and on COF. I am betting that there are ten or more Twinkie owners that would pony up for one. I would.

Kristen

I just E-mailed Knots2U and received a promising reply. This is the reply:

Gary,

We did indeed get rights to the Miller mods and will be bringing the nose wheel light back into production soon. We are working on the drawings and should be in production my mid to late summer. We have not announced pricing yet but when we do you may feel free to put together a group buy if you wish, it would save you some money as well as the others.

Thank you very much for your email. Please feel free to contact me if I can be of further assistance.

Best regards,
John Bailey

So for now if anybody is interested let me know. When the Mod becomes available and depending of course on the costs
I can create a bulk buying list for a reduced cost.

Email me with your interest or just post a reply to this post.

Thanks,
Gary

I'd really consider, but I do not like the fact that this light hides the markings on the trunion for "do not turn past". Also, I'd prefer a HID lamp and ballast ... BTW , John has been promising... "soon... a couple of months" since January 2010.

Jim
I mailed John at Knots2U with your concerns. Here is his reply.

"Gary,

Thanks for the email. I agree this project has been going on for a long time. I never would have guessed it would take the FAA a year and a half to just get the drawing out of storage. We do have the data now and are dealing with the Chicago ACO so I anticipate some quick movement.

John"

Will keep everyone up to date with new news.

Is the nose gear taxi light for Twins only ? Couldn't I have it in 180 ? Was there a Miller STC for 200 HP upgrade for 180 ?
I would be interested in both.

Femski... others will respond... but I am 99.9% sure that the nose gear light is only for the twincos.... seems the rather unfortunate positioning of the engine in the singles precludes the application of this technology.

All the best!

Femski, I noticed a typo in Mulfly's message to you. What he undoubtedly meant was due to the FORTUNATE positioning of the engine in the singles the noise gear taxi light is UNnecessary because of the superior visibility to both right and left. Thus making the exercise of stretching one's neck to see straight down the taxiway unneeded as the full view along the edges is unimpeded by the pesky engine placement in the twin's.-----No need to thank me Mulfly, I make typo's all the time. Just ask my wife! Ray B

Guys;

Here is the reply from Knots2U:

Gary,

The nose light fits only the twin models. The gear on the singles is different enough that the light will not fit and allow the gear doors to close. As an update, we just got all the drawings back in an electronic format. We are working on the PMA applications for the wing lockers and the nose taxi light. These will be submitted later next week. We have a truck going to Texas in about 3 weeks to pick up all the tooling. We have an install for the wing lockers tentatively scheduled for late July and should also be producing nose lights by that time.

Best regards,
John Bailey
