Circuit Breaker Popping

I have a '67 260B. There are 2 rows of circuit breakers. The number one breaker in the upper row was popping regularly. The mechanic was unable to find the problem but in movinf wires around was able to stop it from popping. Of course this means the problem will return. Does anyone know what that particular breaker is for? Nothing seems to be effected when it pops.

I have a 39 so I can't help on that particular configuration but have have you tried looking on in the maintenance manual? Its on this website under the Tech tab.

If you can see your breakers without standing on your head and looking under the panel, then you do not have a factory configuration. Most of the electrical systems in these planes do not look anything like what they did when they left the factory. My guess is that unless someone totally redid the breaker panel and moved it from under the panel to a panel face, then what you are looking at is probably breakers from an avionics mod. Anytime there is a breaker poping, and then wiggling wires stops it, that means there is a short. Bad stuff because it can start a fire pretty easily. I would advise not flying until you find the problem.
