Can't stay logged in

Postby Jay » Sat Jul 17, 2010 9:16 pm

I'm unable to stay logged in on the forum. I log in, and then have to log in again for each and every thread that I visit. I've tried 3 different computers (1 mac, 2 PCs) using Explorer, Chrome and Safari. I've changed my security settings, even disabling my virus software, to no avail. The site seems to no longer be setting cookies. The forum, for me, has about become unusable.

the number of postings seems to have gone down dramatically... possibly because of this problem.

Guys,
I talked to Dave Fitzgerald one day last week. He said all servers have gone to 64 bit architecture and the free php forum software is not working very well now on the new servers; not just our forum. He has this forum on another server and is working out the “bugs” however it may be the end of the month before all the bugs are corrected. He is heavily involved with Oshkosh and the Comanche group and that is taking a lot of his time now. He definitely has volunteered more time to our organization than I am willing to do.

August 23rd, I still cannot stay logged in. I would like to be an active participant on the forums but this is really annoying.

Update on the Comanche Flyer Site login problem
Like Charlie Tripp stated, all IP companies are upgrading their servers from 32 bit to 64 bit and their systems from php v 4.0 to to php v5.1. So I am completely updating this forum to php 3.0.7-PL1 to work with the newer server software. We were 3 updates behind and that’s been contributing to some of the problems we’ve experienced lately. I plan to have this completed and up just after the San Diego convention. There will be some differences but it will primarily work the same. The software comes with one skin, subsilver. I’ve added two compatible skins prosivler and softwood for a little variety. One of the main problems I’ve had during the past two years is members changing their profile on the forum, for example, changing their email or password. That causes their login to fail because the forum is dependent on the password and email address in pathfinder to login. In the new forum that problem will be resolved. We are also working on installing an automatic resizer for avatars which should make life a little easier for newer members to put up a picture in the future. Nothing is permanent in life but change, and websites are not exempt. As with everything new, there may be a few bugs when we change over to the new forum but all in all it should resolve the recent problems we’ve been experiencing.

Dave, Thanks for volunteering your time to do this work to facilitate Comanche ownership Type Support communications.
