Pictures of OSH

Postby Scott Ducey » Tue Aug 03, 2010 12:11 am

I am afraid I was not able to make it to Oshkosh. Did anyone else have a problem getting there with everything that was happening on the ground? I kept hearing from people on the ground it 'wasn't the same', but am curious if anyone else felt the same way. As far as my trip, a little summary is on my blog here: http://twincomanche.blogspot.com

Best regards,

Scott,
I was there from the Friday before opening. I witnessed the floods, and the "No Wake" sign. For most of the show, after Monday, it was back to normal. The North 40 was still deserted until late thursday but the show seemed to have the same crowds, just not the same number of aircraft on the field. They were all at the outlying airports, but the people still came. Crowds seemed "normal" but it was definately different.

It was my first time to Oshkosh and while I enjoyed it very much the camping behind the FBO for two nights and then moving to the North 40 for my last two nights probably wasn't the experience it normally is. Desptire it all, I found the event amazing and will definitely be going back for years to come.

Nice video Steve...and BTW, I saw that same good lookin' woman selling the sun glasses over in one of the vendor areas too. Was that The Pilot Store"? She was a popular attraction. :)

Take care,

Pat Arnold
