Flap Lever Position

Flap Lever Position

Postby Stephan Mackenzie » Tue Apr 13, 2010 10:06 pm

Right now on my 58 250, to fully deploy the flaps the bar is interfering with the seats, I would like to adjust the whole thing towards the firewall, so its clear by a couple inches of the seats...

Is there a simple procedure for this?

Ok so I got ambitious and took out the 2 front seats, and the carpet and the access panel...

It seems that someone has relocated the flap lever assembly on my plane.

I started the process of putting it back into its standard position, and I recall someone telling me that at some point my plane was owned by a paraplegic, I guess the rudder controls were somehow configured for hand controls which necessitated the relocation of the flap lever...

So now, all I need is a new flap control cable, that goes in the fuselage.

I understand piper no longer offers this, so I will have to scrape one up or have one made...

Thats my story and I am sticking to it

If anyone can help me find the correct part number for the Flap cable from th e lever to the mechanism under the rear seats, that would be great, I think its 20942 or 20944

Also if anyone knows of someone that might have one, please drop me a note.

Thanks in advance
