starter motor

Postby Russell Knowles » Sat Nov 28, 2009 8:08 am

The starter motor on my 1962 PA24-250 [0540 eng] is beginning to give trouble. I believe that it is a Prestolite unit. I would like to replace it with a new unit, perhaps a B & C or sky-tek. Can anyone make any recommendations about which would be the better unit?

starter motor

I put a B&C on my '62 250 about 4 years ago, due to a periodic Bendix problem with the original starter. The B&C has been trouble free over some 500 hours, and I like it. I do have the Bogart mod's too.
