My hot start procedure that always works !

just a small post to let you guys know my Hot-start procedure on a pa39 that always works. Nobody believes me though but it's true !

I close the throttle and the mixture and use no fuel pump. I start the engine (with everything closed) and as soon as it fires i put the mixture open!

Sounds funny but works always !! I just read the article in the ICS magazine but saw nobody using my system, so that's why I post it here !

Well, I've hot started TSIO-520's many times in a 210 and 340 with no trouble. However, my Turbo Twinco is another matter.

What now works for me:

1. Throttle 1/2, Mixture Rich, Prime 4 seconds.
2. Throttle open 1/2", mixture idle cut off
3. Crank until she starts to run.
4. Mixture enrichen at the same time turn fuel pump on
5. Jockey throttle and mixture until she idles smoothly.

If I don't turn the boost pump on as the mixture come off idle cut off I often lose the start. Hitting the fuel pump at this point is the key for me.
