Lopresti WOW cowls installed on PA39!

They just got installed, can't wait to test them !!! Are the Lopresti spinners a big speed difference ?

Thanks for the chuckle about not getting the bill yet ...
I have PA39-10 and have met Dave Buttle with #6. Fun to see another 39er doing good stuff to their plane.
My Mom, Marion Jayne put the WOW cowls on in 1992. I think she had the first non-test install. She didn't log what the speed increase was but I know she got some.
What I really like is the improved cooling due to better airflow. .. goes right along with the speed increase.
And the mechanics like it for the easy access to the starter and alternator.
And I think they are much sleeker looking.
Have fun flying them.

I agree, the wow cowls have numerous advantages.
Looks, cooling, speed, and keeping the fleet modernized.
Anyone noticed any adverse effects?
Such as a decrease in the cooling effect when at a high angle of attack, or long wait for departure (engines running) and not facing into wind?
I believe I did, I noticed at high angle of attack climbs (such as punching a hole up through cloud openings), my CHT #3 would convert back to faster heating.
Keep a normal 125+ climb out and no problems.
