Spinner Polish

Spinner Polish

Postby 8266Y » Sun Sep 13, 2009 3:59 pm

I had my spinners sent to a shop. They stripped off the paint and polished them. It has been over year now and I have some water spots and such. I used different cleaners and waxes but nothing made them look like the shop did it.

I have just found the perfect polish,..MAAS. There is no buffer needed. Just a clean cloth and they polish back up to a mirror finish again,...even the water spots are gone. A Harley guy gave me a tube of it. He swore by it. http://www.maasinc.com/products_metalpolish.aspx ,.. I used the paste .

Randy,

Thanks, I'll try it.

The paint shop uses Mother's but you have to be really careful not to get it on anything else. I kept the plastic prop sleeves that came with them after overhaul to protect them and then use painters tape and sheet to keep it off the cowl - sort of a bother. This sounds much easier.

You will love it then. The MAAS is very mild. The tube says you can use it on about anything including, fiberglass, acrylic, enamel, aluminum, chrome and even plexiglas!

I used a very small amount and a micro cloth and cleaned in sections. The great part is no prep needed and NO buffer!

It looks like the company has a protector but I have only tried the "metal polish creme"

I use Flitz, its a bit cheaper than MAAS, might be a little more work, I think I spent 20 min or so per spinner. I know that when I was done those things looked fantastic, I try to polish em up every few weeks, they are pretty easy to upkeep if done periodically.
