Excellent, Scott.
Your photo collection is very impressing. It makes the 'viewer' feel as being part of the adventure.

I will have a second and third look at them!

Thanks Monica. I enjoyed taking the pictures. If you look at them again, I would suggest clicking on "slideshow". It is a pretty nice feature that adds music to the picture review. I see that you are from Germany. I thought I would mention to you that I met someone from Germany while in Oshkosh that flew all the way from Germany to Oshkosh. I did not get his name, but he mentioned that he publishes a general aviation magazine in Germany. He said that he is an ICS member, but is not too active. He said that he flew with Comanches (and other airplanes) to AirVenture. It would be great if he can submit an article for the Flyer, or if he publishes an article in his mag, if we can re-print his story. Just a thought.

Anyway, I am glad you enjoyed the pictures.

Scott, you must have met Jan Brill who is editor of the German magazine called "Pilot und Flugzeug" www.pilotundflugzeug.de He was a member of ICS however left our Society several years ago when people were getting very 'vocal' on the Delphi forum.
Last year he wrote several excellent artricles about the Comanches in his magazine and triggered a Comanche-buying-boom in Germany!

There were actually two Twin Coms in that group. The other guy, Norbert, met Dave Fitzgerald in Oshkosh.

If you have Google Earth you can trace the flight that the group made with this link http://download.pilotundflugzeug.de/liv ... 9/link.kml If you zoom in real close and tilt the picture you can see their track (holdings, climbs, descent) three dimensional. Its a lot of fun especially if you watch the flight progress live. Of course what you see now is just the history of that flight.

I'll have another go at your website on the weekend :D

Monica,
That mapping of the flight is amazing! I will have to learn more about the program to view the trip better.
The flight, the trip, the adventure was more amazing than the program, and I was impressed with Google.

Yes Steve, Google's features are really amazing.

In flight the data is sent at optional intervals from the GPS either directly or via a computer (not quite sure) through a satellite phone in messages that are similar to an SMS to a special Internet address. From there it is transfered to Google Earth.

As the altitude is also transmitted you will see that on some parts of the flight it seemed to have been a piece of cake for Jan to take the Comanche to FL 210. Great a/c :!:
