stabilator torque tube assembly

stabilator torque tube assembly

Postby bhickle » Thu Jul 09, 2009 8:33 pm

I recently completed torque tube assembly inspection on my 1959 250. The horn was free of cracks however the torque tube was too corroded to return to service. I have not been able to locate a sevicable replacement part. Contacted Piper through dealer and ordered a new part with promised delivery 5-days. Now after three weeks I am told that part will not be available for 30 more days do to a manufacturing problem they encountered on the first batch. Contacted Webco for used part to no avail. Does anyone have a lead as to where I may find a replacement part? My plane is grounded for the time being.

I'm confident that you will be able to find plenty at ASOD, Air Salvage of Dallas. Talk to Lucky. I purchased a tagged twin horn from him and he had lots of them.
