Garmin GDL 69

Postby Don Nelson » Mon Apr 06, 2009 11:01 pm

A GDL 69, repaired by Garmin with an 8130 form, got no bids on ebay a few days ago, tho starting at only $650.

I've toyed with adding one to display on my GMX 200, but also like the 496 displaying the wx and everything else it does, seperately.
Only problem with that is, it still sits on top of my panel, obstructing the view thru a new windscreen that no longer has a center divider. Sigh! (-:

GDL69

Scott,
I installed the 530W, GDL69A, and TAS600 as building blocks for interface with a G600 when I can swing it for a complete panel mounted, certified solution . If you just want weather a portable would be more economical. On another note, thankyou very much for the Comanche 50 video. I have really enjoyed it.
Regards,
Dan

Scott: I have a GDL-69 that interfaces with my MX-200 to give me data link weather. It will give you metars for an airport, TAF reports and more. Sometimes a picture is worth more than a thousand words. Sorry the enclosed photo is not that clear. Turbulence. Plus its the only current photo I have of my MX-200 in the wx mode. But the GDL-69 has saved my butt more than once and is a great comfort for my wife.
