Throttles need refreshed. The ends look faded?

The end of my throttles have the black round plastic ends. The plastic ends look like they are starting to fade. Does anyone know a product to make them look new?
Thank you,

No,.... I guess I could call Webco.

They are not in that bad of shape. I was hoping there was a trick to re-stain the black. I thought a leather stain like for shoes would work but I would hate for the stain to come off on your hand,..lol
Thank you,

I've been looking for new throttle knob replacements for a couple of years. I spoke with Webco and they have indicated that they had no throttle knobs in inventroy, and couldn't say when (if ever) they would be getting more in stock. I have "haunted" the fly markets at Oshkosh and Sun-N-Fun to no avail. If you happen to find any in your search, could you please report it back here? Mine are servicable, but beginning to fade and I would very much like to replace them. Good luck with your search.

Take Care,
Jody

Throttles Refreshed

Postby SLIMDREDGER » Sun Apr 05, 2009 11:54 pm

If you are talking about the colors on the throttles, mixtures, and prop knobs in the PA 30.....I removed the plastic knobs from the metal arms, sprayed them with a primer that helps paint stick to plastic....and then used spray cans again to return them to the origianl colors.

No problems after 2 or 3 years use, and they do look better.
