I am sorry I couldn't make this one. Sounds like a good day of Comanche learning!

Sounds like a great weekend at Clifton. Just a comment about the Twin Comanche Round-The-World flight: not to take anything away from anyone who has done this, but am I to understand that only 6 Twincos have ever done it? Western Canada ICS members Don Fonger and Tal Talibi did it as a flight of two in their Turbo Twins in 1987. That would only leave four more. There's got to be more than that. We lost Don a few years ago but last we heard Tal is still alive and going strong. Don wrote a book about this trip and others he undertook "Challenging The Skies" ISBN 0-9693675-0-3.

Don,

I knew about 6 trips but your post prompted me to look further and now I know about 10. I have a signed copy on Fonger's book that was a gift and an unsigned one I purchased.

www.earthrounders.com keeps a list . It is not always complete but a very good start. Note that Twins is one list and Air Races is a second list.

1971 Patricio Milmo and Jesus Delgado
1987 Don Fonger and son Jim Fonger
1987 Tal Talibi and Ken Bamford
1991 RJ Plimpton
1992 Dick Levin & Dan Boone
1992 World Race Gérard & Christiane
1992 World Race Marion Jayne and daughter Nancy Palozola, 2nd
1994 World Race Marion Jayne and daughter Patricia Jayne Keefer, FAI Gold Medal
2001 London-Sydney Air Race Denise Water and various copilots or none
2002 Cpt. Dick Sollner & Cpt. Bill Moore

Thanks for the accolades Pat. All I have talked with have been impressed with the line up as well as the amount of information disseminated on Saturday at the Clifton, TX Seminar & Fly-In. Unfortunately, not many pictures were taken except of the actual seminar, but one of my favorites was the surprise presentation to Larry Larkin of an award from the South Central Tribe for his years of dedication to ICS, CFF, and Comanche owners the world over. I have attached it for everyone to see.

Congrats to Larry, a well deserved award for sure. As for what Bruce is wearing...what self respecting Texan wears a Wisconsin sweatshirt....

Here in Texas where men are men Zach, we do not pack winter gear unless we are going to some foreign winter wasteland like Wisconsin. As you can guess, old man winter taught me a lesson this time. Both Friday and Saturday night in Clifton were below freezing with high winds on
Saturday, and did not compliment my summer attire. And Walmart was 30 miles away, what's up with that. To make a long story short, and only as a last resort mind you, I was proud to wear Wisconsin's colors loaned to me by Tribe Chief Bob Cretney even at the risk of having my Texan heritage challenged.
