Thanks for your responses. You just saved me thou$ands of dollar$. 99.9% of the IFR appraoches I do are straight in with no holds. The heading bug will continue to suit me just fine for the type of flying I do.

No reason not to use the Nav function on the selector. Actually, if you use Omni, it works the best for tracking GPS if you do not have GPSS, as it is the most sensitive.
