Care and Maintenance by Bill Creech

Care and Maintenance by Bill Creech

Just got the book written by Bill Creech titled Care and Maintenance of the Piper Comanche Single and although I have a Twin it is a must have book for Comanche owners reguardless if you have a single or twin. It is 24 pages in length and I couldn't put it down once I started reading it. It's rare to have a guy with his depth of knowledge and insight make available this kind of information. Take advantage and get it. Not only for you but it's worth having as a refrence guide for your IA.

Well worth the $25.00 plus shipping.

Thanks Bill for putting this together.

Okay, it's great that Bill has published this book but why is the advertising and distribution so "second hand"? I have to call the ICS president directly to get the book and send my check for the book somewhere else? Why is this not advertised in the Comanche Flyer right along side the rest of stuff we can buy like the revised POH and the tips book etc? Certainly not all ICS members participate in these forums. Why not let all ICS members in on this?

My 2 cents, Bruce Christie, Wasilla AK

Care and Maintenance

Bruce: It is my assumption this book has just been finished by Bill and is now available to purchase. I read a post by Bill on another Web site recently informing people of his book and that it was available through ICS. I then cause I wanted it quick contacted Dave and asked about it. Dave mentioned that there was some problems with the printer hired to make the book etc. etc. etc... so things were running behind. But he could send me one. Other than that I don't know what to say.

But it is a book that should be promoted by ICS because of its superior quality of down to earth easy to understand information written by a guy who owned a Comanche for 20-30 years, is an A&P who did all his own work.

All first hand information that is hard to find.

Bruce,
Part of the problem is an almost 3 month lead time on getting anything in the Flyer. Another problem is the small batch printing. It is expensive, and ICS is trying to make this and other pubs available at a reasonable cost. Thats all I know, but these are pretty hard issues to get arround. I'm sure it will be in the Flyer soon. Look for it!

Zach,

Why is it not being already promoted on this website like the Tips and the POH?

Hi Alan, Bill's book was rushed into publication to introduce it at the 08 Convention, where many copies were sold. It is a must have publication for Comanche owners as has been noted. The book will soon be for sale through the Comanche "Goodies" section of the Flyer, but is not being publicized just yet there nor here due to some printing issues that must be resolved prior to designating a printer to produce them in quantity. Please bear with us just a little longer. Dave Fitzgerald is addressing that problem along with numerous other projects and will hopefully have the problem resolved soon.
