Symons Engineering has manufactured a 20 gallon STC'd tank for many years.

Tom, I'm not familiar with the baggage fuel STC but do have the 15 gal Tips, 10.2 gal nacelle, and 19.4 gal integral tanks on my PA39 - maybe you already have the tips and know the advantages - IMHO I'd take the tip tanks over a baggage tank.

Whichever way you go with the extra fuel is up to you. I suggested the tip tanks because they are nearly 'free' from a weight and balance view. When fuel is in the tips the gross weight is now 3725 on a Twin and that covers 125 of the 180 pounds for the 30 gallons in the tips.

Webco has or had an STC for 10 gallon Nacell Tanks, try them. They use to advertise them.

Tom,
That is the Symons 20 gal tank that Hector had in his 260. He posted the info on it somewhere on the forum here. Search it and it will come up.

From the Delphi forum:

First and foremost, I would like to thank Zach and all the members of ICS for such a GREAT time at OSH KOSH 2008. It was my first flight in my aircraft to OSH KOSH and I had a wonderful time with everyone. Unfortunately, I had to go on an assignment and cut my visit short.

While at the campsite, several ICS members inquired about my baggage compartment 20G Aux Tank.

The tank is STC'd (#SA4-971) for the PA24 series since 07/01/1959 by the Symons Engineering Co. located at the (KTOA) Zamperini/Torrance Airport in CA.

Cost of the unit was $2500.00 on 10/29/2007 when I purchased it. Mr. Symons does not install the unit, but will provide STC, manual, installation diagram and instructions.

Mr. Merlyn W. Symons continues to build these units and can be reached at 310.534.2161
