shoulder harness

Postby Craig Harlan » Wed Aug 13, 2008 11:35 pm

Looking for front seat shoulder harnesses for my PA24, new or used. There was at one time an ICS program for these but I can't find any mention of it. Is it still up and running? Many thanks, Craig Harlan, San Luis Obispo, California.

Shoulder harness

Check in the FLYER.

Two advertisers, Kosola in Albany Ga and Alpha Aviation in Burnsville, Minnesota.

Good investment.

I have a brand new Lenny Spall shoulder harness kit for sale $ 200.00. The belts are dark brown. Front seats only.

I could not install it because my plane has an almost complete Kosola kit already installed from the factory. It won't work for me. I am going to install the Kosola in about 6 months.

I went with Alpha Aviation. Very good to deal with and they use Am-safe belts.

Which harness

Postby Diller » Wed Jul 01, 2009 5:25 pm

I just bought a 250 (WooHoo!) and first thing I am doing is putting in a shoulder harness and am probably going with the Alpha belts. Question I have is whether to go with the solid strap or the inertia reel. I'm not exactly a svelt guy and am wondering how each of these fits. Is the inertia reel adjustable so you can have a little slack or does it always have tension on it?
Thanks...Dallas

Congratulations on your purchase. I also have a 250 and love it. I did the same thing, installed shoulder harnesses soon after buying the aircraft. I put shoulder harnesses in a Cherokee that did not have the inertia reel and I did not like them. I am happy with the Alpha aviation inertia reel belts. They do have tension on them but I don't notice it. I was able to find a set of Piper factory shoulder harnesses for the rear seats from Duncan aviation for around $500.00. The install was easy with the headliner down for the front belts.

I also did the tail inspection and 1000 hour gear work. These two items weren't cheap but well worth the cost.

Good luck
