1966 Pa-30B

Well its time to sell my very expensive hobby. My copilot, (son) is going to college in September and my
wife will only get into a plane if its for a vacation of at least a week. She gets very queasy just looking at a plane :(
My original mission for this airplane was to take the family on lots of weekend outings and family visits, but this didn't work out with
my wifes disposition to the airplane. I don't blame her, she was a real trooper trying everything from accupuncture to brass wrist bands to non drowsy
medications.
I am asking $89400 for it, which is $10000 below AOPA VREF value. The TT is 6728 hours. The Gear AD 77-13-21 (a) was done in 2007 and is good for another 775 hours, Part B was June 2013 (bungees and springs). The tail was inspected and new hardware and bearings installed 2013. The engines are higher time, left is at 1392 and right at 1517, but engines are running strong. I have 50+
hours of engine data to back up their health. The engines were topped 773 hours ago using the NU Chrome process. The props have 102 hours since factory new.
The Garmin 430W and Garmin 340 audio panel were installed new in 2010. The L3 stormscope WX1000+ has the ability to get heading information but is set up as a WX1000 without heading reference.
The Amsafe Airbag seatbags where just installed along with the Knots2U taxi and HID lights. Not that it matters but including the purchase in 2009, I have, not including regular maintenance and labour for installing various goodies, over 130k invested....

If anybody knows anyone that would like a ready to go Twin Comanche, please have them look at this one.
I will also include in the price a 10 hour, for insurance, dual instruction. During that time I will also warranty the airplane from nose to tail for any problems
that might crop up. ( I know there won't, so that why I can offer this :) Disclaimer: this warranty is only valid while I am in the airplane.. during instruction or delivery flight up tp 10 hours.

Thanks,
Gary

Oh Gary, so sorry to see you sell but certainly understand. Husband was quite queasy until Mom taught him to fly - thank goodness because I know I would not have kept the Twin without his enjoyment of flying it too - not an expense thing just a, I would always choose being with him over anything else.

I'll pass this along.

Thanks, Pat. Yes I know that I could keep it as well, but I also like my wife's company, and if it means driving or the airlines, so
be it. Yes she is also nervous on the airlines, but she can handle the not so claustrophobic cabins.
To keep the Twin, now that my son is off to college, for just beating around the patch by myself just doesn't make since.

Sorry to see you have to sell the plane. I have a 1970 Twinco that I love. My wife has the same problem with motion sickness. She takes Ginger and 25 mg of Meclizine before a flight and usually has no problems. If it is bumpy, she takes 50 mg. It does cause drowsiness, but she does better sleeping through the flight. The Meclizine must be taken at least one hour prior to flying.

I also noticed that your Twinco appears to have the Miller nose conversion and the Lopresti engine cowls. You should mention these, as they are major selling points.

Thanks, Jerry

Thanks, Jerry. Yeah my wife is a trooper she tried the ginger remedy, ( non drowsy gravol ) as well as few of the
non traditional things. Unfortunately none really help. Regarding the ad, the nose is not the miller nose,it is the factory standard except the fiberglass nose cone. That was installed in the eighties when a weather radar was installed that was since removed.

Sadly today, after spending some time showing the good points of the Twin Comanche and flying over
some of the nicest scenic area of northern Ontario on the way to Winnipeg with the new owner, I walked away from
her for the last time. I am glad though that the new owner, an ICS memeber, will be providing a good home and TLC that
these airplanes deserve.

Gary,

So glad you had a final pretty flight with the Twin.

Ours just made it easy to reach a relative and her family to help them bury a loved one - would have been much harder without it. In person hugs are so much better than flowers. Too bad we can't wrap our arms around the airplane and explain how much they meant/mean to us for what they facilitate and the wonderful memories they help create.
