Air Box and cover

Looking for two air boxes and covers
Piper Part #23883-05 air box
Piper Part # 25956-00 box cover

These are the part numbers that fit non-turbo
PA-30 sn 1717 and 1745 and up
PA-39 all

Pat... I assume these are the boxes that the air filters go into... if so and when you find them... I would suggest that the spring loaded fasteners be replaced with AN hardware. Hans put me on to this. The vibration and pressure play Heck with the boxes and they eventually wear out. Have Tim put nut plates on the backs and use appropriate bolts and then fasten them tight. I can send you a picture if you would like.

Jim,

Just dropped them off yesterday to get repaired and that is what we are doing wrt the fasteners.

Pat,

You will need two AN3-38 and one AN3-40 bolt for the air filter containers. A few washers can be used for final adjustment.

Thanks Hans. I'll pass that along to the guys doing the work - since they've done their own, they likely know this but I always appreciate a heads up.

BTW where did you get the thin material you made your scat tube sleeves/cuffs from?

Back when I had a day job, there would be a purge of materials on jobs completed. The thin Scat material was among that. The remaining roll went to my truck immediately.

This should be a material easily found. Red RTV coated fiberglass cloth. Thickness about .020 to .030.
